CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- No one was hurt in a fire that forced a Chesterfield County family out of their home late Monday night. The house is located on Evelyn Drive in Chester, near Route 10 and Route 1.

The fire started outside the home just before midnight, Chesterfield fire investigators said.

Firefighters feared the flames could spread, so they evacuated a neighboring home as a precaution.  Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the single-family house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
