HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - Over the past couple of months Henrico Police said they have seen an uptick in larcenies from cars in the entire county.
"They're going through and grabbing change, cellphones, GPS," said Lt. Shawn Diasparra.
Lt. Diasparra said recently the Nine Mile and Laburnum area as well as the Varina area have been the latest targets according to police.
"I don't want my car to be broken into, it kind of makes me edgy," said one neighbor nearby.
To help prevent even more people from becoming a victim Henrico Police officers were out around 11 North at White Oak on Saturday.
Officers were passing out crime prevention flyers and reminding residents the importance of locking their car doors.
"The message we're trying to get out is don't keep you valuables in your car and when you leave your car stow it for the night just to make sure it's locked," said Lt. Diasparra.
