CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Kevin L. England Jr., 20,  died after being hit by a BMW while crossing Hull Street Road.

He died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash in the 11200 block of Hull Street Road on Sunday, Aug. 24 around 10 p.m., police said.

A 2001 BMW sedan was traveling west on Hull Street Road in the left lane when the driver struck England, police said.

England, of the 4900 block of Alberta Road, was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the car, who stopped at the scene and called 911, was not injured. Police continue their investigation into this crash. At this time, no one has been charged in relation to the incident.

"This road is just a -- it's a death sentence when you try to cross it," said Nita Roberts, a cashier at the local BP gas station. "I get nervous every time I see these kids crossing the road."

Ari Fleming said she's noticed plenty of accidents at this intersection because of "speeding and running the red lights."

According to Chesterfield Police, in 2012 there were 29 crashes at this intersection of Hull street and Genito Roads, compared to 30 last year. But police say there were no reported fatalities or pedestrians involved in those accidents.
