As an alumnus of Virginia State University, I am disturbed by the delivery of this story. The title of this ‘story’ would lead the reader to believe that this happened in the heart of the campus. Please do better.

Clyde, please limit your ignorant, racist comments to illiterate conversations with your redneck friends in the privacy of your home. Virginia State is a profound institution that prepares intellectual individuals for society …. and unfortunately idiots similar to you did not have that opportunity. Sorry!

” Virginia State is a profound institution that prepares intellectual individuals for society” BBUUULLLS**T. I suppose next you’ll proclaim that only the good enoughst ivy league schools overbook by 800 freshmen knowing that’s exactly how many will flunk/drop out or get tossed for a Colonial Heights arrest. If that’s truly what you believe, then that University owes you a full and complete refund.

  • Robo

Welcome back to school! Orientation will be held at …on campus, space will be provided to store weapons..

  • Njanae

Crushing no need to respond to ignorance. They seem to forget that a few years ago a massacre occurred on the campus of Virginia Tech. I guess, he was a special kid that decided to just snap. ROBO, Clyde, and Robbie please humble yourselves and your ignorant comments.

  • Clyde McDonald

That massacre happens every weekend in Chicago and its your people doing the shooting and the dying. In Richmond so far this month there has been 10 shootings so far, all black victims, all black shooters, but let’s not let facts muddy the waters. Let’s just focus on being victims of oppression (as usual).

Virginia State is a joke. It’s sad that it’s being marketed to individuals most of whom want to get a great education & instead are hampered by the few trash thugs that are increasingly trying to take that away from those who really want to learn & get ahead! It doesn’t seem that the university itself is doing anything to rid of the bad apples that are making it hard for those young people who are working hard to make something of themselves!

Channel 6, maybe it would be prudent to make sure you have accurate facts BEFORE reporting them. I know it’s all about ratings and who gets the story first, but the MISinformation put out by media lately – local and national – is utterly ridiculous. Is fact checking not standard protocol in journalism??

  • Annette Holly

I pray the media would stop reporting any incidents that happen in Ettrick, Va. as VSU related. It gives VSU a negative image and causes Parents, of students enrolled, to get alarmed and worried for no reason, then the Administration has to respond and assure them this was not at VSU. Unless it is on VSU Campus, please don’t relate every news incident with VSU, report it as an incident in Ettrick or Chesterfield.

    • manalishi

Annette, VSU will always have to deal with the unmitigated fact that is is nestled in the heart of Ettrick and worse yet, borders Petersburg. VSU will never be able to isolate itself from the stigma of it’s location. I’m not bashing the institution with the statement, but the only way VSU can improve the area is to buy it all and level the purchased buildings.

Hey Clyde, go join the white men club and do what they do best commit SUICI__. Fill in the blink and stop being rude,

    • Clyde McDonald

Truth hurts doesn’t it. Every year blacks kill more blacks than all the soldiers killed in Iraq/Afghanistan killed in a 10 year period. But that’s Ok Susan, let’s not let facts muddy up your childish, woman-like rant.

      • Crushing

Clyde & Robbie are two dumb a$$ whiteys!!! Again, school just started and you had you kracker a$$ kids plotting to do another mass murder at school probably because their bytch a$$ was being bullied…… dumb shyt!!!

VSU breaks ground on convocation center, all of a sudden every crime that happen in Ettrick/Petersburg has a VSU tie in the news media. Is the a correlation between VSU expanding not only enrollment but Facilities as well, in the recent trend to try to connect every bad thing that happens in the area the to the University, i’ll let you decide. i’m just saying they do go out of there way to make sure VCU is clearly seperated from the the numerous shootings, robberies and other crime that occur on and around it’s campus. but hey you can draw your own conclusions about that,

    • manalishi

it’s been that way for the last 25 years that I’ve lived in the area. Let’s also no forget that the VAST majority of on campus crime (not shootings) does not get publicized by the VSU police or administration for obvious reasons. Off campus in Chesterfield will be public info. Colonial Heights sweeps their VSU crime under the rug as misdemeanors (such as looting the WAWA) so the citizens don’t demand action. Mcdonalds is the only restaurant in Colonial Heights that want VSU students.
