Emporia man suffering from Alzheimer’s found dead

UPDATE: According to the Greensville County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Thomas Hooley was found a short distance away from his residence in a wooded area with what appeared to be a gun shot wound. Deputies are conducting an investigation into Hooley's death. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Greensville County Sheriff's Office at 434-348-4200.

GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va.- Deputies are searching for a Emporia man suffering from early stages of Alzheimer's.

According to the Greensville County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Thomas Hooley, age 66, of the 3000 block of Brunswick Rd Emporia, Va was last seen by his wife Friday around 7:30a.m.

Hooley is described as 5'6 in height, about 167 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, gray beard and with glasses.

Deputies do not have a direction of travel or a clothing description at this time.

The Greensville County Sheriff's Office deputies are conducting a full investigation.
