ONTARIO, Canada — A son brought his mother to her knees in shock and disbelief after he surprised her with the car of her dreams. Canadian actor Corey Wadden said ever since he was a child, his mother has wanted a 1973 Saab 99 EMS.
“After six months of looking, my friend found [a similar] one on eBay and I reached out to the seller,” Wadden wrote on YouTube. “It took me another six months to get it, but surprising her with it made it all worthwhile.”
Wadden said he lured his mom outside by telling her he needed her to appear in a documentary he was making.
“She doesn’t realize that the car is waiting for her right outside the doorway,” he wrote.
Wadden said his mom fell in love with the car years ago when she cleaned the home of a man who owned one.
“He would throw her the keys and let her move the car all the time and she fell in love with it,” he said.
Wadden said his mom lost her job nearly three years ago. Since then he has been working to earn enough money so she would not have to work anymore.
“I haven’t been successful yet, but this is a big milestone in helping to improve her life,” he said. “She hasn’t had a car in a year, and the one before that was falling apart.”
Wadden closed his YouTube clip with a message to other children around the world.
“Do one nice thing for your parents today. It doesn’t have to be big. Give them a call and let them know how much they mean to you.”
