RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Police detectives say they have identified and arrested a man who stole the tip jar from a local doughnut shop earlier this week.

Just before 9 p.m. on Monday, a man walked into Sugar Shack Donuts at 1001 N. Lombardy St., grabbed the tip jar and fled the scene on bicycle.

The beloved business took to Facebook Monday night.

“We just got robbed by a mid 20s make [male] who is currently hiding in VUU campus. Cash reward if someone knows him. Police are searching campus now,” the bakery wrote on their Facebook page.

Police said that thanks to a detailed description given by witnesses, a Fourth Precinct officer spotted a man matching the suspect’s description on Friday morning and detained him.

After further investigation, the man was identified as Peter M. Vasquez III, 30, of no fixed address, and charged with theft from building, a misdemeanor.

He is the third in a line? Dahhhhmn! Do we know where he came from? We need to do more for our homeless. We need to give them the money they need to start or re-start their lives so they do not lose their dignity and become criminals(or politicians). Sad. A tip jar? Dude! Have you seen the amount of uncollected cans in the city? No excuse. Plug your bleeding hearts. Hit export back home!To whatever state he came from. His father,( II )is probably waiting for him to come back home.Shame, a tip jar.
