LONDON — It is one of the most famous photos in rock and roll history. The picture of the Beatles crossing the street outside Abbey Road studio in London became the cover shot of the group’s last recorded album, Abbey Road.
The photo was taken on August 8, 1969. Abbey Road Studios tweeted out a reminder this morning that the photo was taken 45 years ago today.
The studio followed up with a photo of the scene at the famous street crossing at the exact time (11:35 a.m.) 45 years later.
The crossing has become a full-fledged tourist attraction complete with its own live cam so people around the world can see who is crossing outside Abbey Road Studios anytime, day or night.
