Facebook down: Facebook back online after outage

Facebook is back online after 35-minute outage on Friday afternoon.

People started reporting the outage around noon on Friday. As of 12:35 p.m., Facebook was back online

According to the Facebook status page, Facebook acknowledged the error at 12:01 p.m.:
“Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We’ll update shortly.”

People started reporting the outage around noon on Friday. As of 12:15 p.m., Facebook has not issued a statement on the outage.

A message posted on the social networking site read, “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”  As for the app, a simple message read “Network Error.”










The Facebook status page, where the company reports updates on outages, was also offline during the outage. also reported the social media site was down.


Users on Twitter confirmed the site was down for them too. For users that were able to get the site to load, some newsfeeds displayed old content.
