Sleeping driver arrested on Parham Road; child found in backseat

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Police arrested a 32-year-old man after they found him asleep at the wheel.

Tyrone Lee Fountain, of Nutmeg Court in Richmond, was charged with DWI and Child Neglect following the Monday morning incident.

Police said they found Fountain asleep inside a Jeep Liberty that was stopped in a travel lane on Parham Road near Interstate 64 in the West End about 9 a.m. Monday.

“Mr. Fountain, was observed asleep at the wheel,” a Henrico Police spokesperson said. “A four- year-old female acquaintance was in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.”

The child was not hurt and was later released into the custody of a family member.
