IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. — More than 50 dogs took to the water with their owners in Imperial Beach, near San Diego, on Sunday for the annual Petco Surf Dog Competition.
The dogs jump on a surfboard – with a little bit of help – and ride the waves.
Then, the pups are scored by a panel of judges. The first place winner takes home a $250 Petco gift card.
This was the ninth annual Surf Dog Competition, which raises money for the San Diego Humane Society.
