HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - Police arrested a Henrico man accused of stabbing his roommate inside their West End apartment.

Police responded to the Shannon Express Mart along the 8700 Shrader Rd. in Henrico's West End about 8 a.m. Wednesday where they found the 42-year-old stabbing victim.

The victim is now listed in stable condition, police said.

Lester D. Williams, 27, of  Donovan Court, was later charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

Police said Williams stabbed his roommate and the two had been involved in a prior dispute.

Drhue Sapra said it was crazy to hear about an early-morning attack near these Henrico condos.

He doesn't live far away from Shannon Green but Dhrue first heard what happened on social media.

Others noticed leftover crime tape in the parking lot of the Express Mart on Shrader Road and heard details through the community grapevine.

"I think it is sad. Is important for people to work it out. If it can't be worked out just leave it alone and walk away from each other," David Larkin said.

Investigators would not go into detail about the dispute that preceded the stabbing.

why shouldnt they respond quick ,its a block from the station and has become the hood of the west end.thank you section 8 for ruining what was once a great area to live

That is such a prejudice statement! How do you know they were on Section 8? And do you know that Section 8 is for low income or disabled citizens? And what makes you think that someone on Section 8 would behave like this? Unfortunately crime does happen and not one place is immune from it. I hardly think these two men would have been on Section 8. So who or what else can you blame? Thank Goodness the citizens and police responded quickly.

It’s just brothers being brothers in the hood. Misunderstood, oppressed, neglected by society and held back by the white man.

The United States Constitution allows me to speak my mind. For some, the truth is hard to take. Jesse Jackson has taken more money for nothing and given back so little yet he has done more to hurt race relations than anyone. You are blind to the truth.

Ah yes…resort to name calling. Poor Pam..
it hurts to hear the truth knowing you were brought up to believe something entirely different.
