SAINT GERVAIS, France – A 12-year-old French boy took his fear of the dentist to drastic measures.

According to The Local, the boy faked his own kidnapping to avoid going to the dentist.

When police picked the boy up on May 21, he allegedly claimed he had just escaped an abduction.

The boy told police that he had been snatched up by a 5’7,” muscular, European-looking man in his late 30s.

He also told police the kidnapper had a vertical scar on his right cheek.

He claimed he was on his way to the dentist when a man forced him into his car and sped off.

The boy told police he escaped when the man stopped his car in Saint Gervais.

According to The Local, police spent the last month investigating the boy’s abduction.

After looking through security footage, detectives noticed something wasn’t right.

When police confronted the boy about his story, he admitted he made the whole story up because he had been afraid to go to the dentist.
