PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY,  Va. -- It's been nearly two months since Lana Sears was found stabbed to death in her Beechwood Manor home in Prince George County.

Since her death, police have searched the area around the home for Alana Renee Cole, who is a person of interest in the case.

Tracy King, the step-daughter of Sears said Cole, who goes by "Renee" was the daughter of Lana Sears and suffered a mental illness. King and her family said she had been distant for several years.

King said Cole has not been seen since the stabbing of her mother.

"We feel like there's no closure, " she said.

To continue to keep the investigation in the public's eye, police held a community meeting for neighbors in the Beechwood Manor area. Police told neighbors that they are still actively searching for Cole and any tip from the public can help.

"It makes you more aware and I kind of keep watching," said one neighbor.

When asked by neighbors, police would not elaborate on whether they think Cole is still alive.

However, by keeping the word out about Cole's disappearance, King said she hopes they'll eventually get the closure they've been looking for.

"We wake up every day not knowing," said King. "We go to bed crying not knowing."
