Dog quarantined after rabid raccoon found in West End yard

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A West End dog has been quarantined after it came into contact with a rabid raccoon.

The dead raccoon was found in a yard  in the 8500 Block of Lynn Avenue, off of N. Skipwith Road.

It has not yet been determined whether the dog contracted rabies as well.

“Henrico Police Animal Protection reminds everyone to be sure to keep their pets’ rabies vaccinations current to ensure the safety of their pets and our community,” Henrico Police said.
