RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — The opposition is growing to Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones’ plan to bring a baseball stadium to the city’s Shockoe Bottom neighborhood.

In fact, Richmond City Councilwoman Reva Trammel now says she thinks voters should have the final say.

Trammel said in a statement Monday that she believes voters would disagree with the location and should get a chance to either approve or decide against it in November.

The news comes four days after two city council members, Charles Samuels and Jon Baliles, came out against the plan.

City council is slated to vote on the mayor’s plan Tuesday night.
