Missing woman found safe in Henrico after overnight search

UPDATE: A woman reported missing last night in Henrico was found safe Wednesday morning, according to Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney.

Martha Vandyke, 79, was located by a search team from Henrico Police and the Greater Atlantic Search Dogs in the woods along Carriage Point Lane and Interstate 295, about two miles from where she was last seen.

Ms. Vandyke was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police and rescue crews are combing the area around The Crossings Golf Course in Glen Allen. They are looking for a missing woman who suffers with dementia.

Martha Vandyke, 79, was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was reported missing about one hour later.

Since then, crews have combed the area near the golf course and surrounding neighborhoods. She was last seen with an orange gown and a house coat. She's believed to be barefoot.
