RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — There was a lot going on Thursday night at the Richmond Coliseum.

The crowds were out for the Lil’ Boosie concert, a multi-county police chase ended after a crash in front of the Coliseum, and rapper Red Rum was arrested.

Red Rum, a Richmond native, opened the Lil’ Boosie concert.

Police sources said he was arrested immediately after he stepped off stage, for failure to pay his child support.

Online court records show that Edward Anthony Anderson, stage name Red Rum, was booked shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday night. He is being held in Henrico.

The charge is failure to comply with order for spousal/child support.

Anderson’s rapper bio states that he was born on Mother’s Day, in 1984.

His bio goes on to say that his “experiences have matured him into strong work ethics, family values, and a hunger to not only give back to his community, but to the entire city.”

Anderson goes before a judge on Friday. His bond is set at $16,000.

WHY DO ANY OF YOU ALL CARE…HIS PROBLEM…I know situations where men do take care of their kids and spend time with them…but the mother’s be pissed cause their not with them so they don’t work so the father has to pay…some situations are deeper than you can imagine… like always there is 2 sides to a story…and at least he did try to kill his kid to avoid child support like white men do and it’s a bunch of them too….and a reminder*** there are more white people on welfare the black****..Fact!!….Google that. 🙆

      Kitty are you serious????
Have you ever heard of percentages? Obviously there would be more compared to a group that only accounts for 13% of the population.
Embarrasing that 13% of the population account for 50 + % of the crime.

Greedy baby mama is what I see. Personally it’s none of our business what goes on in his personal life, but it’s a lot of situations just like this everyday all day. But it’s a problem or it’s brought to the light for the simple fact he’s a “rapper”.

After reading all of your comments, the sad truth if it all is that NONE of you know what a good father is! I’m guessing due to your own deadbeat fathers! I’m also guessing most of you are deadbeat fathers yourself by the ignorance you’re posting. It just goes to show why generation after generation of family’s depend on WELFARE to take care of their kids without a second thought.

If you can’t financially take care of your first child, please use a condom or go get neutered so you can’t make any more children! We have enough of you uneducated, ignorant, broke MF’s out here as it is!

You are so right realreconizereal. And another thing, he must be behind in child support because trust, he didn’t get locked up for nothing. He had to have been behind. That’s why he’s locked up. He must need to get a real job if he not making money rapping.

Material things don’t take the place of spending time with your kids..I’d rather my dad be dead broke & around than not around at all. $$$$ isin’t everything.
