SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities announced Wednesday they have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with an 11-year-old Sampson County girl’s death last year, according to WTVD.

McKenzie Mae Sessoms, a student at Salemburg Elementary School, was found unresponsive on her living room couch by her father on Sept. 6, 2013.

An autopsy revealed Sessoms had been sexually assaulted and suffocated.
