RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Some people like to indulge before the meal and others enjoy it after dinner. No matter when you eat it... you'll want a second slice. Tracey Winslow, Owner of Simply Southern Pies shares one of her top selling recipes… for Chocolate Chess Pie.

Simply Southern Pie’s Chocolate Chess Pie
1- 9 inch unbaked pie shell (chilled)
½ cup butter
4 ounces Dark Chocolate 60% coco
1 ¼ cups sugar
2 tablespoons fine yellow cornmeal
¼ teaspoon salt
3 large eggs room temperature
1 large egg yolk room temperature
¼ cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Put the butter and chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 15 second intervals stirring each time until they are melted and blended together. Be careful not to burn the chocolate. Set aside.
Mix sugar, cornmeal, salt, eggs, egg yolk, milk, and vanilla whisk until evenly mixed. Pour in the chocolate mixture and whisk until evenly mixed. Pour into chilled pie shell.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 50 – 60 minutes rotate the pie after 30 minutes.
The entire top of the pie will puff up in a single piece while baking.
