HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Three guys with guns approached a woman outside her Hanover home, forced her back inside the house and stole valuables, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Chris Whitley.

“The victim reported that she was approached by three black males wearing masks outside of her residence who displayed handguns,” Whitley said. “They forced the victim back into the residence, stole valuables, and then fled on foot in an unknown direction.”

No one was seriously injured during the robbery, he said. The crime was reported about noon on Tuesday along the 8300 block of Whippoorwill Road. Nearby schools were ordered to “shelter in place” while deputies investigated the crime.

“Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000,” Whitley said.
