RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police believe 50-year-old Rodney Lewis was shot and killed in front of his South Richmond home during a robbery. Police were called to the 2800 block of Montecrest Ave. shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
“When they arrived on scene, they found Lewis deceased in front of his residence and a second adult male suffering from what initially appeared to be a gunshot wound,” Richmond Police wrote in an email. “Further investigation revealed that the second man was not struck by gunfire.”
Police are looking for four men believed to be responsible for the crime.
“[Detectives] are searching for four suspects described as males wearing all dark clothing,” police wrote. “One suspect is described as a black male with a stout build, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds and approximately 5’7” to 6’0” tall.”
