Charges should be filed against the owner of the gun. That is careless to have a gun not locked in a home with children. Gun owners should know better.

If your weapon is ever used to kill someone by accident due to your negligence then you should be charged with involuntary manslaughter period. Unless the justice system starts cracking down on careless gun owners this is going to never end. My heart goes out to this family.

I also think parents should teach their children to stay out of things that dont belong to them. They should also teach their children that guns arent toys. My daughter isnt even allowed to play with a water gun.
