BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia State Police are investigating a triple-fatal, single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
Virginia State Police were dispatched to the scene at 12:15 a.m. on Route 15, less than a mile north of Route 620, in Buckingham County.
According to State police, a 2008 an Infiniti G35 was traveling south on Route 15 at a high rate of speed when it ran off the left side of the road. The car then struck several trees. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the car.
The driver, Corey O. Garrett, 40, of Dillwyn, Va., died at the scene.
Two passengers also died at the scene. Anthony G. Foster, 44, of Cumberland, Va., and Thomas D. Goode, 4, of Cumberland, Va.
Foster was wearing a seat belt and Goode was secured in a child safety seat.
The crash is under investigation.
Route 15 reopened shortly after 3 a.m.
