Richmond school board seeks task force volunteers

From a news release from Richmond Public Schools: 

RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond City School Board is currently receiving applications for volunteers to serve on the Facilities Task Force committee, a group that will work to evaluate the district’s surplus properties, existing in-use properties, as well as facility maintenance, finance and schools’ sports facility needs.

The task force will be co-chaired by Richmond City School Board members, Kristen Larson and Kimberly Gray, who will begin working with appointed committee members over the summer months in an effort to provide recommendations in the fall of 2014.

While the invitation to apply is open to all staff, parents, and community members, preference will be given to individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: real estate tax, architecture, building construction, economic development, sports facilities, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Interested persons may apply online or download the application at http://web.richmond.k12.va.us/AboutRPS/FacilitiesTaskForce.aspx. Completed applications can be submitted by email, or by mail to the Richmond City School Board Office, 301 North Ninth Street, 17th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 2.
