RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — If you want to get dirty to help keep city spaces clean, check out this Saturday Clean the Parks event.
This Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon the Fan District Association (FDA) will sponsor their semi-annual event in Meadow, Lombardy, Federal, Sydney, Grace Street and Monroe Parks.

Anyone interested in getting some exercise or performing some community goodwill can show up at one of these parks and pitch in to help.

Bring gloves, an energetic attitude and old clothes.

As they have for the previous two springs, the FDA is teaming up with the City of Richmond and the VCU sponsored Paint the Town Green (PTTG) campaign.

About 50 students from VCU will be in the Fan helping to clean up the sidewalks, streets and parks.
Come join them in their kickoff event at Meadow Park from 8-9 a.m.
“It is a great opportunity to meet and interact with the students, and enjoy coffee and breakfast snacks,” the moderator of the FDA Facebook page wrote.
