RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police have identified the man shot and killed Monday night in South Richmond.
Kiarri K. Edwards, 34, of Granite Hill Circle, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police responded to a shots fired call at the intersection of 20th Street and Dinwiddie Avenue, off Jeff Davis Highway about 11:15 p.m.
"When they arrived, they located three shooting victims," Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley wrote in an email. "One of the victims, a male in his mid-30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The other two victims, males in their 20s, were transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries."
While investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses, police said it did not appear the shooting was "a random act."
"Detectives are making good progress with their investigation but they still need additional information to help them solve the case," police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
