WASHINGTON (WTVR) — Police Chief Cathy Lanier of the Metropolitan Police Department tentatively identified the body of an adult male found at the search area at Kenilworth Park in Northeast, D.C., according to WUSA 9, who attended an evening press conference.

Lanier tentatively identified the body to be Kahlil Tatum, the alleged abductor of an 8-year-old Relisha Rudd. She was last seen on March 1, with Tatum.

“Tentatively it appears the person we found here today is in fact Mr. Tatum,” she said.

Officials said the cause of the death is likely a suicide. “It still appears at this time, it is a suicide,” said police.

Tatum was charged with the murder of his wife, found in Oxon Hill on March 21, 2014.

I really hope the little girl is found safe. Sad she is caught up in this horrible search. What did Relisha have to do with this man murdering his wife? Why take her from her family?

The wife most likely found out that he had the little girl or she confronted him about her.

I think so too. She was very negligent. She didn’t care about leaving this little girl with a complete stranger who she knew just over a year. A janitor in a homeless shelter for heaven’s sake. The little girl missed over 30 days of school. I can’t even begin to fathom what was going on.

i pray that shes ok lord knows and if she went missing on feb 26, why wasnt a amber alert sent out sooner then march 19 thats a whole 3 weeks before the public even knew she was missing.. thats very strange and real sad..

I hope and pray that the body they found is NOT Kahlil Tatum…Because if it is, we will probably never know what happened to Relisha.

Sad to say it but more than likely this little girl is dead. If you do not find someone within the first 48 hours after abduction, there is a huge possibility that they are not alive. The mother is just as guilty as the janitor because if you read the previous stories, SHE GAVE HER TO HIM! He bought trash bags , lime and was seen with a shovel, as a Biology degree holder, I know what those components are used for. This world is becoming more sick and twisted each decade and A lot of people in it are going to bust hell wide open.
