HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Skipwith Elementary School was placed on lock down for about an hour Thursday morning as a precaution, confirmed Henrico Schools spokesman Andy Jenks.
The lock down was ordered after a man who claimed to be the relative of a student arrived to pick up the child, Jenks said. The adult was not on the approved pick-up list and some school workers perceived the man’s comments about the situation to be threatening.
The child was eventually dismissed to the relative “without incident,” Jenks said.
Skipwith is located along the 2400 block of Skipwith Rd., near Broad St. and Parham Rd., in Henrico’s West End.
