LOS ANGELES (WTVR) – Long before “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan made it in Hollywood, he called Central Virginia home. This week Gilligan recorded a video to congratulate Longwood University on its 175th anniversary.
“I grew up in the town of Farmville. I attended elementary school at J.P. Wynne Campus School, which is a laboratory school that was part of Longwood,” Gilligan revealed in the video. “It meant a lot to me. Longwood meant a lot to me. In fact, if you watch ‘Breaking Bad’ very closely you will notice that Walter White, the protagonist, teaches high school at J.P. Wynne, which is obviously a shout out to the campus school.”
Longwood has a series of event planned to mark its 175th anniversary. Click here for more information.
