RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Richmond's top prosecutor says there is still no one in custody for a deadly shooting that happened around 1:30 early Tuesday morning.

Richmond Commonwealth Attorney Mike Herring says his office is deciding whether to send this case to a grand jury.

Additionally, Herring said no no charges have yet been filed and that there is no evidence the teen and his shooter knew each.

The 16 year-old's body was found in an alley along McRand Street on the city's Southside.

Richmond police said there is no additional information to release at this time. There has been no word yet on a motive, and police also have not released the teen's name.

Neighbors, who noticed extra officers on their street since the shooting, said they are anxious to find out what happened.

"Neighbors are kind of on edge. We've seen some police presence, but not enough. How do we know that this won't happen again," neighbor Jamie Melms asked.
