CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — A 23-year-old Richmond man was arrested for leading Chesterfield police on a lengthy chase down Tuesday night.

Chesterfield police said an officer tried to pull over Scott J. Brown-Slater for a traffic near Jefferson Davis Highway and West Hundred Road around 8:30 p.m.

However, police said Brown-Slater kept going east on Route 10 before hopping onto I-295 south for several miles before getting off in Hopewell.

That’s where Hopewell Police joined in on the pursuit as officials said Brown-Slater kept driving west through Hopewell, eventually ending up back in Chesterfield on Route 10.

However, the chase finally ended when officers put down stop sticks on Route 10 and the suspect’s tires deflated.

Brown-Slater was charged with felony eluding, conspiracy to violate the drug control act, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and driving while revoked.

No one was injured.
