CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) - One person was killed when a car and tractor trailer collided on Route 10/East Hundred Rd. and Spruce Ave. in Chesterfield, closing the intersection, Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore confirmed.

Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash, Elmore said.

Ann Whisnant, 39, of Fox Run Dr., died after she pulled out in front of tractor trailer around 8 p.m. on Friday, February 14, according to police.

"Whisnant was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are being placed on the driver of the tractor trailer at this time," Chesterfield Police Lt. Michael Breeden said.

The truck's trailer was empty, but the truck was leaking fuel.

The road fully reopened to traffic about early Saturday morning.
