How about the headline “Crane safety hazard closes Radford building site” instead of what you’ve written? Try to induce fear and page views much?

wtvr is well known for this sort of thing, last week was the shooting at the school in Hawaii with the name close to a school here,so they only put the school name in title, not what state it was in.The weather reporters do the same to push their app.I can only assume its to get people to click the headline for the ads not knowing most run a ad blocker.

Yea, the word ‘Crane’ was conveniently left out. Reading the headline leads to the speculation of what the what the safety hazard is. Shooter? Bomb? As long as they can get someone to click on the headline, it’s all good.

And if you’re wondering why the big incentive for clicking the headline. More page views. With website advertisers, more page views = more $ for the site. The attitude here is screw the journalism integrity, lets make money.
