RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Our highs Friday will near 50° in central Virginia, and in the upper 50s to lower 60s Saturday and Sunday. We will stay dry through Saturday.
There is the chance for some rain showers Sunday as a cold front approaches us from the west. Seasonably colder air will move in behind the front Sunday night into Monday morning.

As it looks right now, that colder air-mass will allow for the next storm system coming toward us from the Mississippi Valley Monday morning to bring us a wintry mix in much of our area. You can expect Monday morning sleet and snow, mixing with rain and sleet Monday afternoon. Highs Monday will reach the upper 30s and lower 40s in the Richmond metro
Another system will bring a chance of freezing rain and sleet to the area on Tuesday. Depending on the time of arrival of that precipitation, we could have that wintry mix in the morning, before changing over to rain Tuesday afternoon. Western Virginia still looks to have a chance for decent ice accretions, possibly approaching ice storm criteria.
We'll continue to bring you updates on these systems online and on CBS 6.
