Eight people escape Richmond house fire

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR)- Richmond Fire crews are investigating a house fire that occurred shortly before 7p.m., Friday evening.

According to Lt. Robbie Hagaman, Richmond Fire crews arrived to the 3400 block of Peyton Avenue for a report of a two-story structure with heavy fire.

The home suffered heavy damage to the left side of the building.

Eight people were inside before the fire. Four adults females, three adult males, and  one juvenile.  Everyone made it out of the home, one person was taken to VCU Medical Center for minor burns.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
