State Police respond to 250 calls around Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia State Police responded to 250 calls for service since the snow started to fall Tuesday afternoon.

“Of those calls for service, troopers have responded to 78 motor vehicle crashes mostly involving property damage and 73 disabled vehicles.  Most of the crashes have occurred in the Richmond Metro-Tri Cities area,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Molnar said.

The calls for service occurred between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday in Richmond, Petersburg, Amelia, Caroline, Chesterfield, Charles City, Dinwiddie, Essex, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Louisa, New Kent, Nottoway, Northumberland, Powhatan, Richmond, Westmoreland, Prince George, and King George.

“Troopers in the Richmond Division are currently on-scene or responding to an additional 9 motor vehicle crashes involving property damage and 3 disabled vehicles,” Molnar said.
