Pipe-bursting cold this morning

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - This is a frigid, pipe-bursting morning in central Virginia, with temperatures falling into the single digits and teens.  You'll notice cloud-cover streaming over us today as a cold front approaches us from the northwest.

Today will be variably cloudy and still cold, with highs only barely reaching the melting point.  Solar radiation will help to melt more of the snow and ice away, even with temperatures touching 32 degrees for only a couple hours this afternoon.
