Snow reports from Tuesday

Posted

Snow totals varied widely across our viewing area and the entire state.  The mountains, and extreme northern Virginia up through Maryland received between 6″ and 12″ of accumulation.

For most of the viewing area, snowfall ranged between 1″ and 4″.  Some higher totals occurred in the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula, and some other areas well east of I-95.

Here is a sampling of totals from around the area.  You may have a little more or less depending on your location within the cities listed.  Blowing and drifting snow also makes measuring a little difficult.  The best method is to pick multiple spots in your area not too affected by wind, measure about ten spots, and then take the average.
