HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Running shirts are for sale online to benefit the family of Meg Menzies. As of early Friday morning, more than 2,000 shirts have been sold, totaling more than $21,000 for Menzies’ husband and children.

The shirts are on sale through Feb.3.

The Ashland mother of three was struck and killed killed by a minivan Monday while on a morning run. Police arrested a Hanover doctor and charged him with involuntary manslaughter and D.U.I.

Tens of thousands of people have indicated they planned to run or walk Saturday in honor of Menzies. The #megsmiles movement is getting attention from around the world.

“In honor of Meg, please wear your shirts proudly! For those who are running in the 10K, please wear the shirts in honor of Meg! Lets show the community how much Meg is loved and how much she enjoyed running!” a message posted on the running shirt website reads.
