RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - New flights out of Richmond International Airport will mean more competition and possibly lower airfares.
The merger between American Airlines and U.S. Airways has resulted in American adding a flight from RIC to LaGuardia. The flights begin on April 1.
The newly merged company is giving up space at Reagan National Airport in Northern Virginia , LaGuardia and five other airports in exchange for the U.S. Justice Department dropping an anti-trust lawsuit.
American is adding flights to LaGuardia from out of Richmond and Charlottesville. You can start booking flights January 26.
