Surveillance photo shows armed robber hit West End store

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Police are looking for an armed robber who stole money and cigarettes from a West End convenience store Sunday morning.

Police said a man walked into a store in the 8900 block W. Broad St.around 10:30 a.m. and picked up a drink from a cooler before walking up to the counter and brandishing a handgun.

A surveillance photos shows the suspect before he told the clerk to remove money from the register and Newport 100,s from the shelf behind the counter.

Police said the suspect then ordered the clerk to walk to the back stock room before he ran off on foot in the direction of the Gold’s Gym area.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early 40s, around 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray hooded jacket with blue stripes down the sleeves, gray knit cap and dark colored pants.
