Police chase ends when driver crashes into 4 cars

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – An overnight police chase ended when a driver crashed in several other vehicles in Richmond.

Police told CBS 6 News that an officer tried to pull over Roger Franklin Jr. on Broad St. around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Initially the car stopped, but when the officer got out of his cruiser, the driver took off.

After a slow-speed chase, the pursuit ended near W. Franklin and Henry streets when the suspect crashed into another vehicle.

The driver then slammed into three other cars, one of which crashed through a fence and struck an apartment building.

Despite the damage, the people involved only suffered minor injuries.

The suspect did get out and try to run, but was caught about a block away.

Franklin was charged with failure to yield, driving while revoked, felony elude two counts of felony hit and run and two counts of misdemeanor hit and run.
