HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Richmond Police are in the middle of a homicide investigation that has ties to Henrico County.

Around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Richmond Police were called to the 2700 block of the Richmond-Henrico Turnpike where they found a woman lying on the ground.  She had been shot and was later pronounced dead at VCU Medical Center.

Family members confirm to CBS 6 the victim is 26-year old Sheena Green.

"I ain't ever going to get to see her again.  The only way I will get to see her is in a picture," said Thomas Green, Sheena's brother.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday, Henrico County swat personnel were dispatched to Conway Street, which is near Richmond International Raceway, to assist in executing a search warrant connected to the homicide investigation.

Thomas Green said his sister's ex-boyfriend lives at the home.  The pair have two children together, according to Green.

Police on scene did not specify what was found at the home, but said they do not believe Green's killing was a random act.  No suspect information has been released at this time.

"This wasn't supposed to happen to my sister," said Green, who added that Sheena worked at a local daycare to help support her children.

Anyone with information about this crime that could aid police is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
