Southside Plaza temporarily evacuated due to gas leak

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–Robbie Hagaman with Richmond Fire confirms a gas leak at Southside Plaza shopping center.

There is a leak on the outside of one of the buildings. As a precaution, one or two stores has been evacuated.

The source of the leak was around a regulator in the back of a business in Southside Plaza.

The Department of Public Utilities has fixed the problem and the stores have been re-occupied

No injuries have been reported. DPU said they have located the leak and were able able to fix it quickly.
