Man armed with knife robs Hopewell bank

Wells Fargo Armed Robbery Suspect

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) — Police are investigating a Friday afternoon bank robbery in Hopewell.

Officers were called to the Wells Fargo in the 400 block of South 15th Avenue around 4:15 p.m.

Investigators said a masked man walked into the bank, pulled out a knife and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before running off on foot east toward the rear of the business.

A K-9 track was conducted, but the suspect was not located.

No  one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 150-170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, a dark colored pair of gloves, a faded black short-sleeved shirt, dark colored pants and white tennis shoes with black soles.
