Richmond SPCA offers free pet adoptions thru Dec. 31

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--For the third year in a row, you can adopt a pet from the Richmond SPCA, through Dec. 31, and there will be no fee.

The only requirement is to post a picture of you and your cute, new family member.Well that part isn't necessarily true, but the first part is.

For the next two weeks, Priority Automotive Richmond  will sponsor the adoption fees for all pets adopted from the Richmond SPCA through December 31.

The SPCA hopes this campaign to unite 500 pets with a new family will best last year's adoption rate, when they were able to introduce over 400 pets to new homes.

There is a caveat to the savings.

All puppies and adult dogs adopted from the Richmond SPCA must leave with an acceptable leash and collar. Every kitten and adult cat must leave our care in a safe and secure cat carrier.

If these items are not with you at the time of the adoption, you will need to purchase them in the on-site gift shop. All proceeds there benefiting homeless animals.

Mon. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tue. - Fri. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sat. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sun. 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
