Fredericksburg police find man fatally shot in street

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WTVR) — Two men were arrested on obstruction of justice charges after police found a man shot dead in Fredericksburg early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 1900 block of Howard Avenue around 2:35 a.m. for reports of gunfire and found 28-year-old Rodney Beanum Jr. dead in the street.

Neighbors, who were awakened when they heard shooting, reported seeing several people run from the scene.

Police said 23-year-old Travon Thomas and 22-year-old Delante White, who were interviewed by detectives on Sunday, were arrested on obstruction of justice charges.

The pair were released on $2500 secured bonds.
