Deputies said the homeowner reported hearing what he thought were gunshots coming from the basement. When he went downstairs, he found Sowan lying on the floor fatlly shot from an apparent gunshot wound.

Witnesses in the neighborhood reported seeing two black males running from the basement apartment and getting into a four-door, light colored, small or mid-size sedan.

The suspects’ vehicle was last spotted leaving the area via Courthouse Road.
