Weekend Events: RVA on Ice, Tattoo Arts Festival, Liz Callaway and more

The 4th Annual RVA on Ice opens November 23 – January 20, the Ice rink is located between 6th and 7th Streets on East Broad Street, adjacent to Richmond CenterStage, Street parking is available as well as paid parking in 7th Street and Marshall Street Lot, 5th Street and Broad Street lot, 5th Street and Marshall Deck (Behind Marriott Hotel); Enjoy skating under the sun & stars, classic holiday music, and skaters can warm up at the fire pit while the concessions stand serves hot chocolate, S’mores and other snacks. New this year dress-themed days including “Wear Your Tackiest Holiday Sweater” and “Disco Dance Party” among others. Christmas trees will also be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes. Regular hours are Wednesday and Thursday 4:00 to 10:00 pm, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 to 10:00 pm, Sunday from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. Legendary singer/actress Liz Callaway is set to perform for the 3rd annual U.S. Trust Life is a Cabaret Series through Saturday, November 23, 7pm and Sunday November 24 at 2pm at Rhythm Hall, Richmond Center Stage. The Emmy-Award winner made her debut in Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” has performed in other Broadway Productions and is the singing voice for numerous animated films including the title role in the Oscar-nominated “Anastasia.” The actress will perform songs from Broadway Productions like “Memories” from The Award Winning Play “Cats”, songs from Anastasia and music from the 1960’s. Other performers scheduled to perform for the U.S. Trust Life is a Cabaret Series include Molly Ringwald, Todd Murray, Klea Blackhurst. Artists from all over the country are in town for the 21st annual Richmond Tattoo Arts Festival. The Festival is the longest continuous running Tattoo Arts Festival in the country Tattoo and kicks off Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24, at the Greater Richmond Convention. Top national artists including pioneer and legendary tattoo artist Shanhai Kate Hellenbrand, will be tattooing all weekend and will have Sailor Jerry original stencils and other items for sale. There will be tattoo contests, entertainment and a children’s area, children will be given awards for their art work.
